POSITION PURPOSE
Under direction, oversees and conducts a variety of nursing services in the medical group office and other job-related duties as assigned. Duties include assisting with patient assessments, administering medications, and maintaining accurate patient records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plans, organizes, oversees, and personally conducts the delivery of patients care as directed by physicians and other higher level nursing staffActs as a team member with other professionals and Paraprofessionals in the delivery of patient care servicesAssists in the preparation of monthly work schedules as neededAssists with the patient care plan; maintains medical and surgical equipment in sanitary condition and in good operating conditionOversees the compliance with infection control and safety regulations of the MGOActs as liaison between MGO and other unitsAssists in the training and orientation of new staffAssists other professional staff on the care of patients and the provision of nursing services, central services supply, in-service education, quality assurance, infection control, fire, safety, disaster, or utilization review coordinator.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILTIES
Knows current trends and practices in nursingKnows causes, treatment, prevention, and early detection of communicable and chronic diseases, and handicapping conditionsUnderstands drugs and their administrationCan perform EKG’sAbility to perform a wide variety of nursing servicesCan operate a wide variety of standard and specialized patient care equipmentMaintains quality control in work performedObserves safety precautions related to the workEstablishes and maintains cooperative relationships with patients, medical staff, and other fellow workersEDUCATION CERTIFICATION
Completion of LVN program
EXPERIENCE
Prefer two years’ experience as a licensed practical nurse.
Bilingual is a plus.
REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid license issued by the State of California Board of Nursing.Current CPR certification in Basic Life Support.Pre-Employment Requirements
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and health clearance—conducted only after a conditional offer of employment has been made. Health clearance may include a physical exam, TB testing, and immunization review.
