Environmental, Health and Safety Manager
This position contributes to the success of PNAB by ensuring regulatory compliance (OSHA and EPA), injury prevention and after injury management. This position will manage and support all Environmental, Health and Safety programs for the Cheverly, MD Pepsi location.
The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in employee and OSHA, and EPA compliance experience and be highly skilled at implementing processes that will lead to sustained EHS performance improvements.
Responsibilities
This person will be responsible for deploying, implementing, and leading the EHS agenda, by integrating safety, environmental, prevention, workers' compensation and regulatory compliance into everyday work life.
- Implement, execute, ensure compliance with the Pepsi - North American Beverages EHS policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local OSHA / EPA / DOT regulations (i.e. Lockout, Haz Com, Machine Safety, SARA, RCRA, etc.).
- Manage local EHS budget.
- Lead the development and implementation of the EHS Annual Operating Plans and EHS Action Plans for the location.
- Achieve annual targets rates for Lost Time, Recordable, Severity, and Environmental.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state occupational safety and environmental regulations.
- Develop, implement, execute, and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries, environmental incidents.
- Demonstrate solid employee relations experience, interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills.
- Display strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills.
- Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader by influencing all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Conduct EHS activities such as training / auditing / assessing to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory agency requirements, Zero Zone Management System standards, Emergency Response and internal PepsiCo EHS procedures.
- Perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and / or behavioral control measures. Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures.
- Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions or equipment use.
- Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with the location leadership to drive continuous EHS improvement across the location.
- Complete root cause analyses and develop corrective action plans to address root basic causes and management system weak-spots through the use of industry-recognized cause analysis techniques.
Compensation and Benefits :
The expected compensation range for this position is between $84,000 - $140,650.Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.Paid time off in accordance with policy is subject to eligibility and includes vacation, holiday, sick, bereavement and parental leave.Vacation : for eligible full-time employees, a minimum of 15 paid vacation days.Holidays : for eligible full-time employees, the company provides 10 paid holidays annually.Sick Leave : for eligible full- time employees, 10 days (80 hours) of paid sick leave benefits are available for absences related to non-job-related injury. Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of EHS work experience or High school diploma with 9+ years EHS work experience.Preferred Job Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree.EHS management experience in a related industry, including consumer packaged goods, distribution / transportation, manufacturing or grocery industry.Knowledge and experience with EHS Management systems and their deployment.EHS auditing work experience.Solid working knowledge of EHS regulatory compliance.One to three years of increasingly responsible work experience in the safety or environmental field.Displays strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills.
