Residential Neuro Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) Days

We are seeking a RN for our Residential Neuro Rehabilitation program. This position works flexible hours every other week between 8-16 hours and requires consistent availability for on-call duties for the duration of that week, which includes daily call pay.

In-person services are provided at the RNR house in Des Moines (approximately 10 minutes from OWL's main Ankeny campus).

The position consists of maximizing the health and wellness of the 5 persons served in the RNR program by providing the following services :

Primary duties include :

• Evaluation of person served
• Completing nursing requirements for admissions and discharges
• Communicating with physicians and other medical professionals to schedule appointments and follow up on physician findings
• Obtaining, noting, and processing physician orders and assuring orders are carried out correctly by staff members
• Charting appropriately regarding PS medical changes and providing a quarterly nursing assessment
• Providing status updates and clinical education as needed to person served, family members, and other staff
• Providing on-call services to answer questions or provide emergency instructions for direct care staff members
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings

Qualified applicants must have :

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Iowa
• Ability to maintain CPR certification (if you do not have this already, we will pay for it)
• Two years with brain injury experience is preferred.
