Staff Accountant
Looking for a strong Staff Accountant in the Fort Lauderdale area for a growing development company with a great company culture!
Location : In Office, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311
The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing support for month end closing process including maintenance of accounts receivable, cash receipts, owner change order logs and other projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor in Accounting preferred or relevant related experience
- Construction accounting experience
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, energized, self-starter environment
- Detail orientated, organized, excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Technology savvy well versed with Excel and other data analysis software
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Coordinate month-end close and quarter close activities
- Project setup and maintenance of all jobs in financial system
- Approver and posting individual for all receivables and cash receipts
- Reconciliation of executed vs posted owner change orders
- Initiate action with project teams to acquire any missing owner change order documentation
- Receive, review and approve all project closeout packages and notify appropriate individuals
- Audit owner billings for accuracy prior to posting
- Owner Change Order data entry in Microsoft Access and CMiC validation
- Support documentation for monthly financial statements
- Other assigned duties as required
