About Us

WOW Baking Company produces amazingly delicious gluten-free products that are distributed in retail locations throughout the United States and Canada.

Based in Sumner, WA, we are a dedicated gluten-free, SQF Certified facility that is looking to add a qualified Production Supervisor to our team of talented associates.

About the Role

As a Production Supervisor at WOW Baking Company, you will lead the production team and associated activities to ensure processes are operating in a safe, efficient and effective manner.

You will ensure products achieve the expected quality standards and that planned schedules are met to ensure our customers receive their orders on time.

As the Production Supervisor , you will lead your team to constantly improve processes and procedures while maintaining superior SQF standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the production flow to ensure the team is operating in the most efficient way possible.
  • Track key indicators of the team’s performance including safety, efficiency, waste, downtime, labor costs and how these metrics influence the planned budget.
  • Monitor labor usage to ensure that production shifts are appropriately staffed.
  • Manage equipment maintenance, repairs and training of associates on proper use of equipment
  • Monitor quality standards of products to ensure GMPs and SOPs are being met and provide guidance if improvements are needed.
  • Communicate performance expectations to the team and continually monitor and appraise performance, while providing support, coaching and training to production associates
  • Continuously improve operations to maximize profit and minimize costs and downtime while maintaining a level of high safety.
  • Participate in daily and weekly sanitation inspections. Train and direct team on sanitation processes.
  • Inform management of suggested improvements to existing SOPs and best practices based on constant involvement in production activities.
  • Review end of day production documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • This is a hands-on role. 90% of your day is spent on the production floor, assisting the team.
  • This position will be trained in every role on the production floor so that they may fill in as labor schedules require.
  • This role requires a rotating schedule. Every two months, you will rotate between 4 : 30am-3pm and 9am-7 : 30pm.

What You’ll Bring

5+ years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing, such as a small production / lab facility and / or commercial kitchen / bakery.

Bakery experience preferred. SQF knowledge mandatory.

Knowledge and familiarity with automated manufacturing processes / packaging technology, GMP, SQF and industry standards

Ability to develop and maintain a collaborative team environment that promotes high-performance standards

Strong organizational practices and time management skills

Physical Demands

Work is performed while standing, sitting, and / or walking in an environment that can be noisy, and fluctuate in temperature

The ability to repetitively bend, reach, stand, walk and lift 50lb boxes without difficulty
