As an AWS Security team member, you will help secure that environment for our customers while working on cutting edge security products for a variety of platforms and technologies, all operating at massive scale.

We are looking for an experienced security leader to join the AWS Cloud Security team. As a security leader, you will own building and managing a team of incident responders and technical leaders, fostering a strong team culture.

You and your team will be expected to lead response efforts, partnering with engineering teams to take the right actions in the right time frames to mitigate risks and implement long term solutions.

We're looking for a leader that's highly passionate about the potential of cloud computing and building a high performing incident response team.

Ideally you have a track record of delivering high quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly.

You should know how to prioritize, communicate clearly and compellingly, and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong team.

AWS in general, and Cloud Incident Response in particular, operates at very large scale and demands high standards, so a passion and discipline around security and delivery is critical.

A high level of ownership and accountability is a must.

Key job responsibilities

  • Balance Priorities in a shifting security response landscape
  • Manage finite resources against scale of AWS scope
  • Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities in the security and AWS spaces
  • Develop staff in both technical and professional verticals

A day in the life

The SecOps Manager operates at a high pace each day, balancing existing workloads with newly introduced priorities and novel security issues that span AWS.

All decisions made have global impact and high visibility. Members of the team are expected to be comfortable and confident communicating with up to senior executives on a regular basis.

About the team

AWS Security Operations functions both as vanguard and final bastion for the Security of AWS cloud services. Ownership is a core tenant of the team; the buck stops with us.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience leading, managing & developing high performance teams (up to 8 people on your team)
  • 10+ years of progressive experience within a complex, global security / audit / vulnerability management team
  • 5+ years experience with high volume workflow process and procedures
  • 5+ years experience with managing the status of incidents / audits through regular updates
  • BA / BS in computer science, information security, related discipline, or equivalent work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MS in computer science, information security, or related discipline
  • 8+ years of experience leading, managing & developing high performance teams
  • Proven ability to drive incidents to a conclusions based on SLA and severity ratings
  • Strong information security risk-based prioritization abilities
  • Hands-on knowledge of information security technologies such as security design review, threat modeling, risk analysis, and software testing techniques
  • Experience in vulnerability remediation lifecycle
  • Experience with creating meaningful metrics
  • Information security professional certifications encouraged (ie CISSP )
