The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer with expertise in Python, AWS, and coding best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and cloud computing.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable software solutions that power our products and services.

This position is a hybrid position located in our San Diego office.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions using Python.
• Utilize AWS services to build, deploy, and manage applications in the cloud.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and bugs.
• Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain current and competitive.

Qualifications

Who You Are :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in software development.
• Proven experience delivering solutions making use of AWS.
• Understanding of software development best practices, including design patterns, coding standards, and code reviews.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with web development technologies such as Node.js, React, Vue.js, or similar.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Familiarity with CI / CD concepts and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of database systems, both SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or similar.
• Prior experience in a senior or lead engineering role.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.

Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses / incentives, and restricted stock units.

Veracyte is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
