TAMKO Building Products LLC is seeking an Operations Manager at our Knoxville, Tennessee facility. The Operations Manager leads, manages and directs all production operations with responsibilities for production, shipping, quality and other related activities for assigned areas of responsibility.

- Lead to optimize and manage use of production line by planning and executing production schedules, maintenance plans, and utilizing supplied raw materials jointly with customer service, maintenance, engineering and raw materials supply groups.
- Develop and implement procedures or policies within the department as well as plant-wide with other managers.
- Ensure adherence to quality control procedures so that advertised product features are present in finished goods. Lead and work to maximize compliance with specifications and minimize product variation.
- Develop, recommend and implement initiatives to promote and execute new techniques and products, purchase and use new machinery or equipment, optimize staff levels, and improve production methods, processes, or operating conditions.
Six Sigma, Antitampering / Automation, Continuous Improvement, 5S, etc.)
- Jointly prioritize projects with management team. Manage capital projects as required to support strategic plan.
- Supervise, mentor and train subordinates to shape and develop positive organizational change, as well as comply with all required laws, rules, policies and procedures.
- Initiate, facilitate and / or participate in meetings with vendors, outside contractors as required.
- Manage work schedule so that significant events on the line(s) are managed appropriately. Ensure clear communication with and among line managers and supervisors.
- Project assignments maintain accurate records and schedule of assigned projects; communicate on a regular basis regarding project assignments.
- Identify, analyze and solve problems collecting and using Deming and Six Sigma tools.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and housekeeping procedures, rules and guidelines. Maintain and improve housekeeping levels to world class status including developing implementation and necessary participation of 5S initiatives.
- Encourage employee loyalty and morale. Be a leader by setting an example and driving change.
- Create and present monthly and quarterly progress reports to corporate executives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering or technical discipline required.
- Master of Business Administration degree preferred.
- Prior leadership of salaried and hourly employees in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Operations Management, Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, supply chain management, standard costing, equipment capabilities, Microsoft Office : PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
- Green Belt or Black Belt, Six Sigma Process Owner, and accident investigation training preferred.
