Network Security Engineer
firstPRO is now accepting resumes for a Network Security Engineer role in Greenville, NC. This is a direct hire role and remote (must be local to area).
What You’ll Do :
You will work on the Network Support team on datacenter network, cloud and other security initiatives as set forth by TFM’s Enterprise Information Security (EIS) team.
You will administer and implement configurations to secure all network devices and ensure that access to TFM IT resources are configured to principle of least privilege best practices.
You will build and configure systems to fend off attacks using vendor tools, scripts and other means. You will test and implement new procedures and troubleshoot and respond to security incidents with our incident response team.
- Experience with network and security planning, design, and implementing LAN, WAN, cloud (Azure, M365, AWS) network security and wireless network infrastructures.
- Hands on and working knowledge experience with firewalls, proxies, routers, switches, WAN connectivity and secure access service edge (SASE).
- Drives implementation and provides technical support for escalated operational incidents and problems.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies, tools and engineering methods that are applicable.
- Oversee the engineering of network security infrastructure : firewall, proxies, WAN, cloud network and cloud security.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical subject matter to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to understand enterprise security requirements, develop designs and solutions that align with and meet requirements for IT and business strategy.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards throughout the development lifecycle.
- Experience with network and security planning, design, and implementing LAN, WAN, network security.
- Ability to understand enterprise security requirements, develop designs and solutions that align with and meet requirements for IT and business strategy.
- Planning and configuring zero trust and defense-in-depth architectures.
- Provide escalation support on-call rotation
QUALIFICATIONS
At a minimum, what you’ll need :
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity or related fields and / or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years’ experience with network engineering and operations, security planning, design and implementation including LAN, WAN, cloud network security, and wireless network infrastructures.
- 8+ years’ overall experience in working in IT showing steady progression with experience.
- Technology Experience Requirements :
- Expert experience with Palo Alto firewall and Prisma Access.
- Experience with SD-WAN technology as part of a multi-office network.
