Looking Glass is seeking a Program Therapist for our Center Point School Program!
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Therapist is responsible for the provision of effective quality counseling services to program clients and families within the therapeutic milieu of Center Point School.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
- Education : Master's degree in counseling, social work or related field.
- Experience : Two years' experience working with youth; one year working with families.
- Availability : Monday-Friday, 8 : 15-4 : 15 (hours may vary according to the needs of the program).
- Driver's License : Valid in Oregon, acceptable record, and insurability under Agency's auto insurance.
- Ability to :
- Ability to work effectively as a member of an integrated team.
- Ability to work and relate effectively with youth, parents, community, referral sources, and other agencies as needed.
- Ability to work in a structured, sometimes stressful environment, and maintain a positive mental attitude.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Working knowledge of the developmental issues of adolescents and family treatment models.
- Cultural sensitivity and experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
PREFERRED :
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
- Education and experience in art therapy or other expressive therapies.
Essential Functions :
- Maintains an active caseload and provides counseling to individuals, families, and in group settings.
- Conducts and writes comprehensive mental health assessments to determine appropriateness and course of therapy.
- Develops treatment plans.
- Coordinates treatment activities with Center Point School staff, DHS-Child Welfare, schools and others as appropriate.
- Meets with supervisor for clinical and administrative supervision.
- Attends Quality Assurance reviews when required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 45 pounds.
In compliance with applicable laws and licensing requirements, Looking Glass Human Resources Department conducts a background check on all new employees, non-paid staff (volunteers and interns), and existing staff as required.
This is completed by the Background Check Unit with the State of Oregon per the Oregon Administrative Rules.
