Drill Tech Drilling & Shoring, Inc., one of the fastest growing geotechnical construction, mining, and tunneling companies, currently has an opening for a Field Engineer at our Baltimore, Maryland, office, more specifically located in Timonium, Maryland.
We are searching for an individual who can work in a team-oriented environment, willing to learn the fundamentals of our business and apply them to estimating, scheduling, cost control analysis and operational implementation.
The applicant should be comfortable working in the field, as it will be necessary at various times. Travel will be required with this position.
The applicant should be capable of working with Microsoft Office, while experience with Microsoft Project & Primavera and / or estimating software such as HCSS is desired, but not necessary.
A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mining Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering is required.
Duties
The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents in the field as needed
- Prepare and maintain construction schedules
- Make copies, scan documents, and prepare assorted forms
- Monitor subcontractor progress
- Assist in planning of subcontractor work
- Perform engineering misc. design calculations and analysis
- Prepare submittals both pre- and post-bid
- Provide administrative support to the estimating and operations departments
- Download specs and drawings from assorted electronic sources
- Assist in preparation of documents for projects to be quoted
- Perform take-offs from paper and electronic drawings
- Cost analysis, estimating, and bid review
- Contact suppliers and subcontractors as needed
