About The Position
Job Title : RN Float Pool Job Specialty : MedSurg / Tele Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 12-hour day shift, 3 days a week Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum one year experience preferred License : State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC Certifications : - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification Must-Have : Patient care skills, ACLS, English proficiency (read, write, speak) Job Description : Assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and the patient / family to identify and meet the patient's needs.
- Promote the health, well-being, and safety of the patient through the nursing process, adhering to patient care standards and guidelines.
- Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, and uphold organizational mission and core values.- Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, medical records, and clinical data review.
- Evaluate patients' responses and intervene to ensure optimal outcomes.- Develop and implement patient care plans, observe outcomes, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic / diagnostic interventions such as IVs, wound care, and medication administration.
- Advocate and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.- Provide patient / family education, assess learning readiness and needs, and evaluate teaching effectiveness.
- Recognize the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for preferences, values, and needs.
- Deliver relationship-based care that respects cultural differences and diversity.- Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel according to State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
- Use resources efficiently to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.- Act as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing practices.
- Manage resources and patient flow, matching nursing competencies with patient and unit needs.- Use standards of care, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
- Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making.
- Precept / mentor new staff or nursing students as needed.- Seek out learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain skills and competence.
- Maintain professional records that provide evidence of competency and lifelong learning.- Evaluate own integrity and nursing practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Take action to achieve goals identified during the evaluation process.
