The General Service Technician provides general services for vehicle maintenance and repair, such as oil changes, tire rotation and replacement, etc.
and does so in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
Under the guidance of an Experienced Technician, the Service Tech assists in vehicle repairs, operates vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, and interacts with customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
The Service Tech assists in maintaining shop condition / appearance, practices safety procedures, promotes shop policies, and follows environmental rules.
He / She also helps ensure the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions.
The ideal General Service Technician has a high school diploma / GED, an affinity for automotive maintenance / repair, an unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record, and a strong desire to learn and grow with our business.
COMPENSATION
$16.00-$19.00 / hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Change oil, change / rotate tires, and perform minor maintenance / repair tasks as assigned
- Expertly check all fluids and maintenance-related parts and top-off or replace fluids or filters / parts as required
- Possess an increasingly broad knowledge of how vehicles' complex components work and interact
- Perform routine visual inspections, test, change engine oil / filter, lubricate chassis, and other major components
- Drive vehicles in and around the premises as needed
- Adapt to rapidly changing technologies in the automotive industry
- Perform routine vehicle servicing activities as directed
- Know and adhere to safety and environmental standards for maintenance / repair facilities
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current and unrestricted driver's license
- Affinity for automotive maintenance / repair
- Some training / experience / exposure to the automotive repair business
- Able to operate a standard transmission
- Willingness to receive instruction and follow rules
- Highly collaborative nature
- Impressive work ethic
- Minimal mechanical tools required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
