Job Title : Project Engineering Manager

Salary : $120-150K plus bonus
Summary of the Project Engineering Manager Role : We have an open position for an Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate must be proactive, driven by data, able to adapt to evolving business needs, and have a strong focus on results.
This role involves hands-on project engineering and management responsibilities . You will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and the product development team to create prototypes, conduct testing, and undertake site inspections to support commissioning activities.
Qualifications for the Project Engineering Manager Role :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent education.
- 3-7 years of experience managing and leading technical teams.
- Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE) in Nebraska with the ability to obtain reciprocity in other states.
- Experience in reviewing technical specifications for quotations and assessing contract risks for large projects.
- Assessing design risk, verification, and validation activities to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Ability to effectively manage long project timelines and maintain high productivity to achieve project milestones.
- Experience in developing design standards.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software.
- Understanding and experience with regulatory codes such as UL, CSA, NEC, and NFPA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking and a process-oriented mindset to address issues and drive continuous improvement within the team.
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally, expected travel at around 10%.
Responsibilities of the Project Engineering Manager :
oLeading a team of engineers and designers to complete project-specific engineering tasks.
oManaging resource allocation, assessing and mitigating risks, and ensuring timely delivery of technical project milestones within the Project Engineering team.
oReviewing and approving Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), drawing packages, bills of materials, math data, and other technical documentation.
oEnsuring timely completion of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
oEnsuring timely completion of large projects and customized solutions.
oCoordinating with sales and project management teams to allocate resources and manage workloads effectively.
Ensuring adherence to technical project deliverable timelines for large projects.
Leading the technical review of specifications for quotations and assessing contract risks for large projects.
Overseeing the development of large project customized solutions, including design, modeling, prototyping, evaluation, and testing.
Reviewing design risk assessment, verification, and validation activities to meet customer requirements.
Creating design standards for transit systems and components.
Supporting research and development activities, conducting experiments, and providing feedback on test results.
Monitoring and managing department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Reviewing Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and providing support to address root causes and resolve issues.
Traveling to perform on-site inspections for large projects and to support commissioning activities, both domestically and internationally.
Coordinating engineering activities across all teams with the Director of Engineering and Engineering Managers.
Supervising a group of Engineers and Designers.
Providing leadership, guidance, and conducting performance reviews for the team.
Overall responsibility for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team.
