Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) Level 2

The SSHO Level 2 supports the projects safety program in compliance with USACE / NAVFAC EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and project-specific Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) . This role ensures that all construction activities are executed safely and in accordance with federal, client, and company standards. The SSHO Level 2 works under the direction of the SSHO Level 1 or Site Safety Manager, assisting in daily inspections, hazard analysis, and safety enforcement across the project site.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform and document daily site safety and health inspections in accordance with EM 385-1-1.
• Support implementation of the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) , Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) , and site-specific safety procedures.
• Enforce compliance with USACE / NAVFAC safety requirements for all subcontractors and site personnel.
• Maintain safety logs, reports, training records, and documentation required by contract.
• Assist in incident and near-miss investigations , root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
• Participate in Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up QC Meetings to provide safety input.
• Conduct and support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee orientations .
• Act as a liaison with the SSHO Level 1, QC staff, and project management team to ensure a proactive safety culture.
