Mission Critical is an international practice for Burns & McDonnell involving exciting, collaborative work across many departments.

The Computational Fluid Dynamic Engineer will lead the creation and development of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) design models.

The Staff Mechanical Engineer will lead the CFD project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting CFD models according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs for the Mission Critical Industry.

The engineer with be responsible for completing each CFD analysis and report within budget and for all interfacing with the engineering teams.

Lead CFD analysis of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.

Applies knowledge of commonly used CFD concepts, practices, and procedures within the CFD services industry.

Applies knowledge and experience to complex projects, find non-standard design solutions.

Prepare and present technical reports for clients.

Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.

Responsible for QA / QC process adherence

Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines.

Review of Engineering team design information pertaining to CFD analysis detail modelling requirements

Advice on modelling information exchange and need by dates

Wind speed and weather probability analysis

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

and 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred. Required or

Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred. Required

Minimum 3 years related professional experience in CFD analysis preferred.

Experience in the Mission Critical industry is preferred.

Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.

This position requires an individual capable of applying knowledge of principles and practices to fluid and thermal analysis of building thermal management systems, external and internal flow modeling of data centers and the equipment common to data centers.

Experience in steady-state and transient CFD modeling is preferred.

Experience with Ansys Fluent and Space claim products is preferred.

Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)

Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D Rendering Programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programs.

Experience with Cadence 6Sigma is preferred.

Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.

Engineers in Training-EIT Certification Preferred
