Royal Sushi & Izakaya in Philadelphia, PA seeks an experienced full-time General Manager .

Who we are : We are a moodily lit Japanese pub featuring drink-friendly fare & a chef's sushi counter.

Royal Sushi & Izakaya Omakase features a 17-piece tasting prepared by Chef Owner Jesse Ito. Jesse trained under his father, Masaharu, at their previous restaurant Fuji.

Masaharu opened Fuji in 1979 and created a Japanese establishment known throughout the area. In 2016, the Itos sold Fuji to open Royal Izakaya with bar owners Dave Frank and Stephen Simons, bringing phenomenal izakaya and sushi experiences to Philadelphia.

The sushi bar lies hidden in the back of the Izakaya. Find the red lantern on 2nd street, enter the blue door, and pass the noren curtains in the back to find this hidden sushi oasis.

• 40-45 hours per week

Must have experience :

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role in an upscale casual restaurant
• Ordering & receiving, inventory
• Staff training and motivation
• Food safety knowledge (certification preferred)
• Scheduling
• Staff management of 10-15 employees

High-Level Responsibilities :

• Build and improve upon operational systems that impact the efficiency of service, maximize revenue and covers, and ensure consistently high-quality food and beverage
• Assist in the management of all FOH employees including training, mentoring, and adhering to
• Directly manage the takeout aspect of the operation and the employees responsible for it
• Uphold high standards of cleanliness and food safety
• Help create and maintain FOH team development (identify talent and nurture growth development)
• Help create and maintain a positive and safe work environment
