MECHANICAL OR INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER (MANUF. EXP)

TALLASSEE AREA, AL

Position Overview :    We are looking for an experienced Mechanical or Industrial Engineer to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the manufacturing environment and possess the technical expertise to lead brownfield projects, conduct process analysis, and drive continuous improvement. The role requires strong project management skills, a solid understanding of industrial engineering principles, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience : At least 5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in an industrial engineering environment.
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Skills & Expertise :

Strong experience with brownfield projects and process optimization in a manufacturing setting.

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and automation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Expertise in CAD software such as AutoCAD / Autodesk for designing and analyzing production systems and layouts.
  • Familiarity of ERP systems like SAP for managing production and inventory processes.
  • Familiarity with PLC and robotics for automating production processes and troubleshooting systems.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, including Six Sigma and Kaizen.

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Project Management : Lead and manage manufacturing projects, brownfield projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, cost control, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Process Analysis & Improvement : Analyze manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and implement process optimization strategies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Hands-On Manufacturing Support : Provide direct support on the manufacturing floor, troubleshooting issues, collaborating with operators, and ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with R&D, production, and quality control teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes and product designs into the production environment.
  • Continuous Improvement : Implement lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement methodologies (such as Six Sigma and Kaizen) to drive operational excellence and reduce waste.
  • Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate project documentation, including process maps, project plans, and performance reports. Provide regular updates to management on project status and milestones.
