The Maintenance Mechanic (HVAC) is responsible for the daily operation, preventive maintenance, and repairs including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety and fire protection systems to ensure proper facility operations.
The Maintenance Mechanic (HVAC) will maintain and operate equipment that supports a variety of operations labs, clean rooms, office space, plant equipment, data centers, and warehouses.
They will work closely with senior level Mechanics for guidance & prioritization.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.
- Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades : carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
- Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
- Uses hand and power tools.
- Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.
- Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
Must Have : Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
- Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent
Nice to Have
- Boiler license 2-C, or greater
- EPA refrigertation "universal certification"
- MPCA UST Class C Operator certification
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical and / or plumbing systems
- Limited experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Limited experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Limited experience with Fire / Life Safety Systems
