Job Description : Payroll Manager
Reports To : CFO
Schedule : Onsite Monday- Friday, 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm
Salary / Exempt : $90,000 - $100,000
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Manage and process payroll for multiple states including TX, NY, NJ, AZ, CA, and MA.
- Review all requests for manual checks for terminated employees or any owed hours.
- Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions for weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls in Paychex.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Review and reconcile time and attendance records with the team.
- Review and complete employee master record changes / updates for accuracy.
- Knowledge of payroll journal entries which are uploaded weekly.
- Review and audit payroll service provider reporting for payroll taxes and governmental reporting for accuracy.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll statements to ensure accuracy.
- Interface with payroll company for all filings and obtain filing records.
- Maintain and file payroll reports.
- Reconcile health insurance billings to payroll and allocate to Accounting Manager.
- Prepare schedules for year-end W / C audit for Assistant Controller to present.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Other Requirements :
- Proven ability to operate under pressure, meet deadlines, and remain calm and aware of influencing factors during challenging times.
- Ability to quickly learn or apply experience in operating in a regulated environment.
- Clear and concise communication skills : listening, speaking, and especially writing are essential.
- This is a full-time position and requires in-office presence only.
