If you like totroubleshoot hardware, solve complex problems, and make equipmentwork better, this is the role for you. As a Field Service Engineer,you'll work in our state-of-the-art facility and at customer sitesaround the globe, where you are the face of Applied Materials andan integral part of a vibrant and diverseteam.

We train our FieldService Engineers to create and support the technology that theworld relies on to manufacture semiconductor chips and relatedmaterials, every day.

You'll work beside global customers toinstall, maintain and upgrade their Applied Materials equipment,delivering world-class support for multimillion-dollar productionsystems.

Candidatesmust be fully authorized to work in the US. Visa sponsorship is notavailable for this role

You will :

  • Assist senior engineerswith installing leading-edge customer equipment, performingscheduled preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance, andupgrading equipment
  • Follow procedures youlearn during your training, as well as published task plans, totest equipment and to diagnose and resolve technical problems
  • Complete required job documentation, safetytraining and procedures for processing parts
  • Professionally represent Applied Materials to the customer, usingyour "customer first" mindset
  • Satisfy thecompany's and customer's on-site requirements, including safety,environmental and COVID-19 guidelines

You'llneed :

  • A high schooldiploma or equivalent
  • An associate degree inelectronics or engineering technologies, or equivalent work experience, or completion of military technicaltraining and field experience
  • Ability to readelectrical and mechanical schematics
  • Clearand effective written / verbal communications skills, with anemphasis on documenting details
  • Proficiencyin the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge inany of the following : pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum,or thermodynamics
  • Knowledge of hand tools andproper usage, including a digital multimeter

Nice tohave :

2-4 years of workexperience in semiconductor industry or another equipment supportindustry

What toexpect :

  • You'll be requiredto travel about 70% - 90% of the time, both domestically andinternationally
  • You'll work on rotation andin shifts so that customers have ongoing support
  • Your job requires the ability to :
  • lift at least 35 lbs.
  • work in a clean room environment wearing coveralls, hood, booties,safety glasses, and gloves
  • sit, stoop, kneel,crouch, twist, reach and stretch to reach equipment when needed,and stand for extended periods of time
  • determine differences in colors
  • You'll need a validdriver's license and passport

The salary offered to a selectedcandidate will be based on multiple factors including location,hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and withconsideration of internal equity of our current team members.

Inaddition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may beeligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in abonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, theposted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for therole, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at100% goal achievement.
