Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist will help ensure food from all divisions meet food safety and quality standards as per FDA food regulations and customers’ requirements.

They will seek to understand our customers’ food safety requirements and work with suppliers to ensure that all food safety regulations are met.

They will also collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales & Marketing departments across various sites to plan, coordinate, and launch new products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the supplier approval program and other programs related to FSVP.
  • Review Food safety plans, HARPC, traceability, and recall plans.
  • Oversee the release of products from suppliers in different part of the world
  • Manage consumer complaints, out of specs products and create resolutions.
  • Manage, create, update, and maintain various food safety programs.
  • Lead Packaging Sustainability Program
  • Coordinate / lead new product implementation and projects meeting.
  • Assist in the development and review of product specifications.
  • Perform physical and organoleptic evaluations of finished products.
  • Manage, write, review, and approve Quality / food safety related documents from suppliers.
  • Participate in other projects, initiatives or tasks as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, culinary and related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Food Safety, QA / QC role within the food industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills, interpersonal skills, and time management skills necessary.
  • Ability to collaborate with employees at various locations.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
