SENIOR NETWORK SECURITY ENGINEER

Located onsite at Rocket Lab Headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Senior Network Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization’s network security infrastructure.

These systems include support of the infrastructure required for critical systems at related sites such as Long Beach, Denver, Baltimore, Wallops Island, Stennis Space Center, and Albuquerque.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering with a focus on 802.1X deployment and management, NIST 800-53 network security controls, and experience supporting Darktrace.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO :

  • Deploy and maintain 802.1X authentication across our network infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage NIST 800-53 network security controls to ensure the highest level of security for our network.
  • Provide support for Darktrace systems and contribute to the continuous improvement of our network security posture.
  • Conduct network security threat hunting activities to proactively identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including the investigation and remediation of network security incidents.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 5+ years of network security experience, and a bachelor’s degree; or equivalent years of work experience (9+ years total experience).
  • Experience in network security authentication implementation and management.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and encryption methods.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be physically able to commute to buildings.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations : job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base Pay Range (CA Only) : $115,000 $150,000 USD
