Job Description :
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team in the Phoenix, AZ area. This position involves working with students at both the elementary and high school levels.
The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Adapt and modify the general education curriculum to accommodate students' unique learning styles and requirements.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage and support students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create a comprehensive educational plan.
- Monitor and assess students' progress regularly, adjusting strategies as necessary.
- Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and life skills areas.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of students' progress and communication with stakeholders.
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid Arizona Teaching Certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with elementary and / or high school students with disabilities.
- Strong understanding of various disabilities and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching and helping students succeed.
