The Clinical Director of Functional Assessment will support the organization’s approach to the assessment and treatment of challenging behavior.
Guided by the unparalleled Hopebridge Assessment Platform and industry-leading clinical judgment protocols, the Clinical Director of Functional Assessment will deliver comprehensive clinical case support by navigating case reviews, data-based decision making, intensive coaching, and clinical solutions rooted in compassionate, evidence-based treatment protocols.
This BCBA will play an integral role in the identification, escalation, and support of high-risk cases using the tiered model of support with Hopebridge’s interdisciplinary Grand Rounds structure.
The Clinical Director of Functional Assessment will possess rich real-world experience in the assessment and treatment of challenging behavior, Practical Functional Assessment (PFA), and Skill-based Treatment (SBT) philosophy.
The position will have responsibility for consistent delivery of essential state / regional clinical metrics and require travel to centers 25-50% of the time.
This position is based in greater Phoenix, Arizona (AZ) and requires a current AZ LBA.
Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities :
- Design, maintain and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to regional physical management and grand rounds admission and maintenance outcomes
- Host and coach biweekly (or as needed) assessment and treatment design sessions using the PFA and SBT framework
- Offer comprehensive clinical case support by navigating case reviews, data-based decision making, and clinical solutions rooted in compassionate evidence-based treatment protocols
- Collaborate with local teams and other Hopebridge departments to identify and address inferring behaviors, medical complexities, skill acquisition, variables to treatment adherence and / or comorbid conditions that may impact child and family outcomes
- Monitor and interpret internal clinical decision logic reports to provide responsive clinical support to BCBAs, Assistant Clinical Directors and Clinical Directors.
- Triage and escalate clinical matters to senior level clinical leadership for additional support and problem-solving
- Support and co-lead the development of competency-based training on the assessment and treatment of challenging behavior with a focus on the PFA / SBT philosophy
- Engage in follow-up for Grand Rounds cases which may involve ongoing coaching, support with progress monitoring, assessment of satisfaction with the Grand Rounds process to ensure a positive clinical outcome
- Collaborate to disseminate knowledge on Hopebridge’s initiatives on the assessment and treatment of challenging behavior at professional conferences and in peer-reviewed publications
- Participate in the creation and delivery of well-rounded continuing education events / workshops

Required Skills
Requirements :
- Current PFA / SBT Level 2 or higher credential and commitment to advance in the FTF Behavioral Consulting Credentialing Pathway
- Certified and licensed in relevant states for the region.
- Current and in good standing BCBA credential, with a minimum of four years of post-certification clinical practice
- Demonstrated dissemination experience (conference presentations, published peer-reviewed journal articles, etc.)
- Experience with skills assessments and curricula (e.g., VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, BHI, CFQL-2, PEAK) required)
- Experience leading and managing large teams
- Deep experience implementing and coaching others to implement Functional Analyses
- Experience with virtual coaching specifically behavioral skills training and bug-in-ear technology
- Commitment to travel up to 50% of the time (including overnights) to be in the field for support with PFA / SBT implementation and evaluation
