Responsibilities :
Including but not limited to :
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts
- Review and negotiate leases
- Resolve subcontractor related issues and bond claims
- Handle labor and employment issues
- Manage insurance claims with outside counsel
- Negotiate and review labor agreements
- Handle disputes through mediation, arbitration, and litigation
- Respond to subpoenas and discovery requests
- Review real estate transactions
- Handle bankruptcy claims
- Provide legal advice and guidance to the Company and its employees on a broad range of general corporate, financing, and international issues.
- Assist with numerous issues, including corporate governance, M&A, employee relations, litigation and risk management and oversight of the Company's international operations.
- Resolve payment / non-payment issues
- Review prequalification submittals
- Carry out job duties while maintaining Lane values
- And other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- Admission to State Bar.
- Experience and knowledge in the construction industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline oriented environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
- Efficiently manage a large volume and variety of transactions
- Strong interpersonal management skills
- Rapidly assess potential risks, benefits and consequences of decisions, effectively balancing legal and practical business considerations
