At Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, VA, we’re excited to expand and enhance our Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) program.
We’re seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional pre-procedural care.
Position Overview : As a Nurse Practitioner in our PAT team, you will play a vital role in assessing and preparing patients for surgery.
Your expertise will help ensure that patients receive comprehensive evaluations and personalized care, contributing to successful surgical outcomes.
This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient readiness and streamline the pre-admission process.
Key Responsibilities :
- Utilize current clinical knowledge and processes to deliver professional care and health screenings for pre-procedural patients and their families.
- Perform history and physical exams (H&Ps) and follow PAT protocols in coordination with the collaborating physician.
- Review patient histories, diagnostic and laboratory results, and scheduled procedures to prepare patients effectively for surgery.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, primary care physicians, and nursing staff.
- Provide patient education, interpret diagnostic and laboratory results, and discuss treatment options tailored to individual patient needs to optimize pre-surgical preparation.
- Deliver care to adult and geriatric populations, ensuring high standards of patient care.
Qualifications :
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with certification as a Family, Adult, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from an accredited body.
- Relevant clinical experience, with a preference for experience in pre-admission testing or similar roles.
- Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to interpret diagnostic results and collaborate effectively with a healthcare team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
Job Details :
- Schedule : Full-time, Monday-Friday with options for 8 or 10-hour shifts.
- Credentialing : Credentialing through Memorial Regional Medical Center.
- Average Patients Per Day : 12-15.
- Patient Base : Outpatient services.
