The Main Responsibilities

Lumen's Product and Technology organization is looking for a Data Migration and Integration intern on our Data Enablement team.

The intern will be responsible to assist with our transition from Informatica PowerCenter to Microsoft products. The ideal candidate will support data migration, integration, and optimization tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.

This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to a significant project.

Other responsibilities of intern will include :

  • Centralize and normalize data from throughout the company into a data warehouse, lake, or hub.
  • Ensure data quality and governance.
  • Contribute to the migration to Microsoft architecture, tools, and technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned

What We Look For in a Candidate

Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate's commitment of the entire 10-week program. No exceptions will be made.

Required qualifications

o Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or graduate level education status at the start of the internship

o Graduating August 2025 - May 2027

o Preferred fields include but not limited to : - Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems.

o Intern must be able to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 - August 8, 2025)

Proficiency and understanding of :

o MS Office Suite

o Basic understanding of data migration concepts and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) / ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes.

o Familiarity with Informatica PowerCenter a plus, Microsoft data tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, Power BI), Databricks, and Oracle.

o Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or similar.

o Experience with data integration and optimization techniques.

o Certifications (Plus) : Microsoft Certified : Data Analyst Associate or similar certifications, any relevant certifications in data management or cloud technologies.

o Previous internship or project experience in data migration or integration is a plus.

o Familiarity with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure is a plus.

o Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Compensation

Internship compensation ranges depend on each individual's level of education, geographic location, and experience / qualifications aligned to the role.

Hourly Based Pay Range :

Min : $26.00 / hour

Max : $43.00 / hour

What to Expect Next

Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
