Overview
The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for gathering business data from multiple sources, developing tools, reports, and processes to visualize and understand relevant information, and make recommendations to maximize business performance.
Responsibilities
- Gather requirements and manage data from multiple sources to develop actionable business intelligence insights in key sales, operations, finance, and other relevant business segments.
- Develop and manage business intelligence tools, reports, and other solutions to support business and department leader decision making.
- Continuously enhance analytical tools, data queries, reports, and dashboards.
- Analyze general business processes and requirements, collect relevant market data to fashion specific and impactful business recommendations across multiple business areas within the Parts Division : Sales, Pricing, Inventory, General Operations, Procurement, Freight, etc.
- Manage and update the competitive price intelligence database on a weekly / monthly basis - review market trends for pricing and volume opportunities to optimize revenue and gross margins, report findings to division leadership.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses for various business disciplines / purposes as required.
- Create and present detailed presentations as required by the management team.
- Maintain master data as required for key functions (i.e., pricing, product hierarchy, etc.) and ensure all system production updates are applying to internal and external transactions as expected.
- Monitor significant changes in the business landscape (including sales pattern changes, inventory management, cost changes, volume changes, etc.
and implement appropriate changes to recommendations, reports, tools, etc.
- Document all relevant business intelligence functions, processes, procedures and workflows.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or equivalent field required.
- 5 years' experience in an analytical position.
- SQL Server experience including SQL object development, performance tuning, data analysis, and integration.
- Experience with software and data integrations a plus.
- Knowledge in technology such as C#, VSTO, Data Warehousing, Access, Power BI, Excel Pivot Tables, VBA Applications, and analytical toolsets.
- Strong forecasting ability & business acumen.
