PURPOSE STATEMENT

Supporting the sales staff to ensure the execution of sales plan and to support the sale of company branded and other products to meet or exceed individual, division and company profit goals via regular contact with existing clients.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / OUTCOMES

• Represent the company directly to customers and the general public in an ethical and consistently reliable manner
• Regular customer contact to solicit and process orders accurately in a just in time fashion
• Work with existing customers to ensure product exceeds their expectations and that we are meeting customers needs for both present and future
• Consistently supplying customers with vital information such as information related to features and promotions
• Maintain knowledge of product and product availability
• Assist sales department by developing and maintaining tools to allow for efficient pricing / order communication
• Order entry and coordination of product shipping / freight
• Interact amicably with other company personnel / departments to foster a team environment and ensure customer satisfaction;

inform processing staff of special requirements / instructions from customers

Be flexible and assist in other areas of the company as needed / requested

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Ability to network and partner with customers to sell company products
• Ability to effectively manage customer relations in terms of strategic planning, organizational skills, sales forecasting, goal setting and profitability
• Working knowledge of company and / or competitor products
• Excellent phone and communication skills
• Effective communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to utilize training / education and support materials effectively
• Effective and creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to establish and maintain credibility, trust and positive working relationships
• Ability to utilize imagination and creativity to generate unique ideas, approaches and / or solutions that will enhance our service
• Ability to adapt quickly and respond to job environment and industry changes
• Ability to function effectively with minimal supervision and prompting in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to effectively function in and foster a team-oriented work environment
• Proficiency with MS Office and aptitude for other software applications
• Ability to travel to client sites as necessary

Education / Experience

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent, with Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred;

or six months to one year of related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience in food sales environment, preferably perishables desired.
