Energy Efficiency Trainer for Codes and Standards
About Us :
ID360 is a rapidly growing green building and energy consulting firm committed to advancing sustainable building practices and energy efficiency.
As part of our mission, we are seeking an Energy Efficiency Trainer for a part-time, project-based position. This role will focus on training professionals in the latest codes and standards related to energy efficiency.
Position Overview :
The Energy Efficiency Trainer will play a role in educating and guiding our clients and staff on energy codes and best practices in building efficiency.
This role requires working knowledge to effectively convey information in an engaging and accessible manner. Please note that this is a project based part-time position.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and deliver training programs on energy efficiency and building codes and standards.
- Conduct training sessions on one or more of the following topics : California Energy Code implementation, compliance, and enforcement, energy codes, new and remodel buildings, PV panels, battery storage, HVAC systems, lighting efficiency, and building envelope efficiency.
- Explain energy codes and specific technologies clearly and effectively to industry professionals
- Adapt training techniques to meet the varying needs of learners and ensure the successful transfer of knowledge.
Requirements
Qualifications :
- Formal degree not required. Either 3-5 years of industry experience or and educational background in the field of construction which may include an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Building Technology, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Training : Some training in sustainability and energy efficiency, with technical experience in construction, design, engineering, and familiarity with architectural and engineering plans.
- Experience : Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience, including exposure to energy codes and standards.
Skills :
- Working knowledge of code compliance and energy codes.
- Experience in teaching with a successful track record in delivering training sessions is a plus.
- Enthusiast in designing and implementing educational content.
Personal Qualities :
- Friendly, collaborative and effective in both written and verbal communication.
- Passionate about education and skilled in engaging and motivating learners.
- Demonstrates adaptability, patience, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Additional Requirements :
- Ability work remotely.
- In-person travel to the San Francisco Bay (as needed)
