We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our Home Health Care team.
As the first point of contact, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our patients and visitors. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a passion for supporting healthcare professionals in a home health setting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Greet patients, visitors, and family members in a warm and professional manner
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls and inquiries to the appropriate staff
- Schedule appointments for patient visits, including home health care assessments
- Maintain and update patient records and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary documentation for billing
- Ensure all paperwork is completed by patients before appointments
- Assist with the intake process for new patients, including verifying eligibility and obtaining necessary authorizations
- Provide information to patients and families regarding home health care services, policies, and procedures
- Manage and coordinate incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, faxes, and emails
- Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and presentable
- Assist with billing, filing, and administrative tasks as needed
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care delivery
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED required; additional administrative or healthcare-related certifications preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner) preferred
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
