Position Summary
Technical Communications is responsible for creating technical manuals, datasheets, brochures, and procedural documents for Intra products that are sold to our customers.
Maintaining a library of reference materials including manuals, photographs, software programs, and spreadsheets enables Technical Communications access to the wealth of information used to produce this documentation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Communicating with various departments within the company as well as outside vendors and clients in order to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the gaging equipment and the customer’s formatting requirements for the documentation we are providing them.
- Using the network to store and reference job folders that are created to hold the information used to create manuals as well as the storage of the manual document files themselves.
- Collecting AutoCAD and Inventor files to reference as a gage is being built, as well as creating a complete Bill of Materials List for each gage from those files.
- Gathering HMI and Data Collector screenshots using gaging software applications and the current software program from the gaging equipment using screen capture applications.
- Accessing information on Production Part Types (Products) and their individual part numbers, dimensions, software programs and tooling information.
- Taking and editing digital photographs of our products for use in manuals, brochures, datasheets, websites, and as reference for later builds.
- Working hand in hand with Machine Builders to gather precise information regarding the machine function in order to write, edit, and release various procedures, supplemental documents and training information regarding operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Creating one-page informational documents pertaining to machine components made by Intra and outside vendors known as datasheets.
- Editing the Intra Standard Products Catalog
Education and Experience
- Associates Degree in relevant field of study or equivalent.
- Technical background and experience building automated equipment is recommended (automotive, tooling, machining, gears)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Basic AutoCAD and Inventor skills
- Experience with a Digital SLR Camera and ability to edit photos, drawings and other images
- Experience with Adobe Software.
- Great written communication skills
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task / meet deadlines
- Good driving record
