Shop Foreman (Construction Equipment)
$2000 SIGN-ON BONUS
Position Overview :
We are seeking a diligent Shop Foreman to oversee the day-to-day operations of our company. In this role, you will supervise personnel, manage equipment maintenance, and ensure operational efficiency.
You will also be responsible for managing inventory and enforcing safety regulations.
To succeed as a Shop Foreman, you should be highly organized with excellent communication skills. A top-notch candidate will be able to anticipate and address any challenges to operational efficiency.
Responsibilities :
- Supervise and train staff.
- Create and manage staff, maintenance, and work schedules.
- Oversee work to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations.
- Enforce safety regulations and protocols.
- Conduct performance reviews with staff.
- Collaborate with management to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.
- Implement strategies to enhance workflow and operational efficiency.
- Ensure all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained.
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks such as updating and filing equipment orders, stock receipts, and staff schedules.
Requirements :
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- At least one year of experience as a Shop Foreman or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong understanding of work optimization techniques.
- Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership abilities.
- Good time management and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work long hours and overtime, if needed.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions :
- Frequent walking and moving across uneven terrain.
- Lifting over 50 lbs. regularly.
- Hands / arms operating equipment, hand, and power tools.
- Climbing in and out of equipment.
- Reading work tickets, parts, and service manuals, and operating heavy machinery.
- Communicating via radio, phone, and in person.
- Ability to hear mechanical problems and safety communications.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
