About the job
Process Technician 2nd Shift ( $24 - $26 plus $0.50 Shift Premium)
Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, ensures correct process set-up for injection molding machines that leads to first time quality, improvement in mean time between failure, and reduction in scrap.
Roles and responsibilities
- Comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures and regulations.
- Completely and accurately sets tool for startup, including loading the machine with the approved molding process program and ensuring all plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic connections follow established set up guidelines outlined in the process book documentation.
- Assists the Process Engineer with process development activities.
- Suggests possible process / tool improvements that promote cycle time reduction, SMED principles and other productivity enhancements.
- Sets up, calibrates, and configures robots and other auxiliary equipment.
- Complete work orders in SAP for molding equipment or tools.
- Responsible for maintaining high standard of housekeeping, including appearance and condition of all thermolators, robot pendants and hot runner temperature controllers.
- May assist in dry ice pellet blasting and application of mold cleaner and mold release.
- Responsible for accurate and timely records, including quality and set-up documentation on paper, Raypro, MES, and SAP.
- May assist in organization of die-setting station to aid in SMED initiatives.
- Maintains company issued tools and equipment.
- Coordination with material handlers, technicians, and scheduler to meet customer production and shipping requirements.
- Work overtime when necessary.
- Stops the process if nonconforming or suspect material is found and follows systematic troubleshooting processes.
- Participate in and contribute to ATOMS, CI, and OpEx initiatives and provide input on how to continuously improve our safety, quality, and cost performance.

Education, Experience and Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills to coach team members.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding, assembly, part design, and tooling.
- Hands-on experience with molding hygroscopic and non-hygroscopic resins.
- Experience with RJG eDART System. Master Molder® I & II certification a plus.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with ERP and MES Systems.
- Ability to multi-task with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work weekends and overtime when necessary
- Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds.
- Standing, bending, lifting, twisting, and walking on a cement floor daily.
- Ability to visually inspect parts once per hour with accuracy
- Basic computer skills
