Construction Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee community solar projects in Illinois. This role will involve managing day-to-day operations and administrative duties on-site for solar sites ranging from 1 to 2.5 MW. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the renewable energy industry with potential for career advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and administrative duties on-site.
  • Report daily progress and safety updates to the Senior Construction Manager.
  • Oversee and coordinate sub-vendors and their foremen on site.
  • Enforce safety and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Set and monitor daily and weekly productivity standards for contractors and subs.
  • Develop a three-week look-ahead schedule and collaborate with the Senior Construction Manager to ensure timelines are met.
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries with the logistics team and subcontractors.
  • Review and manage construction blueprints, project plans, and specifications daily.

Essential Skills

  • Construction management experience in commercial electrical or civil projects.
  • Technical degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or extensive construction management experience.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience managing sub-vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PDF, Word, and Excel.
  • OSHA 10 certification.

    • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Solar experience is a plus.
  • Electrician or electrical experience is advantageous.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred; assistance available for renewal if expired.

    • Work Environment

    The work environment includes solar construction sites across central and Northwest Illinois, with a company trailer on-site. The team comprises electrical and civil subcontractors. Work hours are primarily Monday to Friday, from 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. Overtime must be approved by the supervisor and is not common. The dress code is construction attire, including jeans and a t-shirt with proper personal protective equipment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00 / hr.
