This position is full time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8 : 00am 5 : 00pm.

We offer 2-4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities :

We are seeking an executive to lead our Medi-Cal strategy and operations across Optum California (or Pacific West).

Who You Are

• You’re a Medicaid expert, with Medi-Cal and / or Medicaid managed care experience
• You have a deep understanding of Medicaid policy and regulations including trends in Medicaid financing, clinical programs and compliance requirements
• You understand the needs of the Medicaid population and can develop and implement programs that lead to the best outcomes for our patients and for the business
• You have experience working closely with clinical teams to achieve desired targets and maintain compliance with Medicaid regulations
• You are a relationship-builder that has demonstrated the ability to lead cross-functional teams and build consensus among diverse stakeholders
• You have experience working closely with health plans in a delegated environment and will work with the payor contracting team to optimize payer arrangements.
• You’re a strong communicator and effective presenter to executive-level audiences
• You have the ability to develop and execute a strategic vision in a dynamic organization
• You will have responsibility for the overall performance of the Medi-Cal book of business, including network development, affordability, quality and financial performance.
• You will work with the regional business leaders to develop an optimal care delivery model and administrative support structure for this line of business.
• You will develop innovative provider contracting structures to align with the care delivery model to deliver superior performance.

You will develop strategies to work with traditional medi-cal providers such as FQHCs as well as community resources available to support this population.

• This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer of Optum California (or other senior operations leader) and work closely with teammates focused on Medi-Cal across our contracting, operations, clinical, and finance teams
• You will work closely with our health plan partners and state and local regulators
• This role is based in Southern California

Required Qualifications :

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience.
• Must be 18 years of age OR older
• Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8 : 00am 5 : 00pm.

• Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
• Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

California Residents Only : The hourly range for this is $16.00 - $20.05 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
