Overview :

The School of Business at Quinnipiac University invites applications for two full-time tenure-track positions as Assistant Professor of Business Analytics and Information Systems (BAIS) with an expected start date of Fall 2025.

Priority will be given to applicants with backgrounds in Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.

However, candidates will be expected to teach courses in the more traditional areas as needed.

BAIS faculty are expected to teach in both traditional classroom and online modalities, and to incorporate innovative pedagogical approaches into their teaching.

You will be involved in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer / impact in the field of BAIS, broadly defined. The faculty of the BAIS Department have diverse research interests, covering a wide range of topics including Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Healthcare Analytics, Future of Work, Cybersecurity, and IS Curriculum.

Please note : This is an in-person position located on our Mt. Carmel campus, Hamden, CT.

About the Department :

The BAIS department offers three undergraduate B.S. degrees in Business Analytics, Computer Information Systems, and a dual degree in CIS / Accounting.

In addition, the department offers an M.S. in Business Analytics. The department also supports graduate courses in the MBA and Professional MBA programs and has a strong focus on applied learning for its approximately 190 undergraduate BAIS majors.

There are two student organizations within the BAIS Department, the BAIS Society and the Blockchain@QU. The mission of the BAIS Department is to : 1) build students’ core competencies in the areas of business analytics and computer information systems through engaged learning and real-world applications;

2) prepare students for successful careers; and 3) empower students to find ways to use their knowledge, skills and abilities to positively contribute to their organizations and communities

The Quinnipiac University School of Business is a dynamic, student-centric community that includes 1450 undergraduate and 550 graduate students.

We offer 13 undergraduate majors, 15 minors, 3 dual degree programs, 4 accelerated dual degree programs, and 5 graduate degree programs.

We offer in classroom as well as online programs. We are an AACSB accredited school in business and have earned the distinctive AACSB accreditation in accounting.

Our 60 full-time faculty, administrators, and administrative support staff are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service.

The school is a signatory to the UNPRME. As a part of its vision for the future, the School of Business is constructing a new building to create an environment to enhance students’ learning and social development while providing faculty state-of-the-art facilities for research, advanced pedagogy, and immersive learning approaches.

The new building is scheduled to open in Fall of 2025.

The school supports excellence in pedagogy and research through a multitude of resources including , the Terry Goodwin ’67 , and Sales Center.

The school also houses two leading centers : the and the that provide unique opportunities for collaboration. The School of Business also manages the annual Quinnipiac University , the largest student-run investment conference in the world.

Responsibilities :

Develop and teach high quality, innovative, and experientially oriented courses both on ground and online in the various sub-domains of Business Analytics and Information Systems.

Prepare and deliver engaging course content and classroom activities. Compile, administer, and grade assignments / examinations in a timely fashion.

  • Conduct and maintain an active research agenda that results in quality journal publications.
  • Contribute active and engaged service to the department, school, and university.
  • Provide high quality academic advising and mentorship to students.
  • Contribute to the support of the department’s student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Contribute to the overall supportive culture of the School of Business by participating in workshops, retreats, and other relevant activities.

Education Requirements :

PhD or DBA in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited Business School or a research-oriented program.

Candidates who are ABD with potential for high-quality teaching and a clear deadline for completion are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications :

  • Scholarly activity to meet Quinnipiac School of Business-AACSB Scholarly Academic.
  • Previous teaching and professional experience in the information technology field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence of teaching effectiveness in classroom environments for undergraduate and / or graduate courses.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Commitment to a supportive and collegial work environment.
  • Teaching and / or research experience in artificial intelligence / machine learning is a plus.
