Position Overview :
We are searching for an enthusiastic elementary teacher who enjoys working with students and adults. The ideal applicant is dedicated to the teaching profession and can contribute positively to our school culture.
Key Responsibilities :
Will be working with special education preschool students. Will be working with Educational Assistants (EAs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and Licensed Behavior Analysts (LBAs).

Compassionate and patient approach to working with students
Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
Effective classroom management and behavior intervention skills
Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP)
Ability to facilitate IEP meetings
Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations

With the exception of designated Career and Technology Education (CTE) positions, the minimum qualification to apply for a teacher, librarian or counselor position is a Bachelor's Degree.
If you are hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program, you have a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license.
You must enroll in a Program to continue employment with the Department. Within each year of employment, you must satisfactorily demonstrate active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements, as set forth by the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB).
It is your responsibility to ensure the program you have enrolled is aligned with the teaching line you are hired in.
