Certified Medication Aide
The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for safely and accurately administering medications to residents in a nursing home setting under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role is vital to ensuring that residents receive the proper medications in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of care and compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Essential Functions :
Medication Administration :
Assist in the administration of prescribed medications to residents as ordered by physicians and according to facility protocols.Verify resident identities and medication orders prior to administration.Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects and promptly report any concerns to nursing staff.Documentation & Record Keeping :
Accurately document medication administration, including dosage, time, and any resident responses or incidents.Maintain medication logs and assist in the management of medication inventories, ensuring timely restocking and proper storage.Resident Care :
Provide compassionate care by engaging with residents, understanding their needs, and assisting with personal care when necessary.Collaborate closely with the nursing team to support overall resident wellness and comfort.Compliance & Safety :
Adhere to all state and federal regulations as well as facility policies regarding medication administration.Maintain a clean and safe working environment and properly handle hazardous materials.Participate in ongoing training and quality assurance initiatives to keep current with best practices.Minimum Education & Experience Requirements :
High School diploma or equivalent andCertification of Medication Aide programAdditional state specific requirements as necessary.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
Able to effectively communicate with clinical and non-clinical staff and individuals.Able to provide proof of valid driver’s license, if applicable.Able to provide proof of valid auto liability insurance in assignment(s) include driving own vehicle.Meets applicable health requirements to provide patient care as appropriateWhy Work for Interim HealthCare?
