Synerfac is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our client in Pittsburgh, PA. Our client is an international MEP engineering firm providing consulting, design, and project management services in the United States and the Middle East.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the preparation of contract documents and specifications for complex building systems and will work independently on multiple concurrent projects, both in design and construction.
This encompasses advanced calculations, systems analysis, quality control of finished projects, and field / construction coordination activities.
- Independently complete calculations for and develop full design of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, including full equipment selection, for projects of all scales.
- Serve as a technical expert and resource for a variety of HVAC systems.*Write specifications and ensure coordination of their preparation with other disciplines.
- Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required, demonstrating extensive knowledge of applicable building codes.
- Review shop drawings and answer questions during construction to ensure compliance and address any issues.*Conduct system analysis and comparisons regarding economical and functional considerations.
- Produce due diligence and feasibility studies in support of clients' requirements on systems of all levels of complexity.
- Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus.- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the HVAC field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.- Proficiency in CAD is required; experience with Revit is preferred.
- Extensive understanding of the construction process and appropriate codes, including LEED requirements.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and code officials.
