Job Summary :
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing project documents, specifications, and blueprints to create detailed cost estimates for drywall installation projects.
You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure all costs are accounted for and bids are competitive.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine the scope of work for drywall installation
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead
- Coordinate with project managers and suppliers to gather all necessary information for cost estimation
- Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services
- Prepare bid proposals and ensure timely submissions for tenders and contracts
- Track and assess changes in project scope, updating estimates as necessary
- Conduct site visits and client consultations to gather additional information when required
- Maintain and update estimating software and databases with current pricing for materials and labor
- Provide support to the project management team during project handovers, ensuring that all estimate details are clearly communicated
- Stay up to date with industry standards, materials, and construction methods to provide accurate estimates
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the drywall or construction industry
- Strong understanding of drywall systems, materials, and installation methods
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural plans, blueprints, and specifications
- Experience with estimating software and tools (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar)
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with subcontractors and suppliers
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required
