Position Summary

The Director of Information Technology directs or performs the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the company’s computer equipment, computer networks, operating systems, communications systems, security systems, and associated assemblies.

Responsible for recommending and planning hardware and operating systems ensuring the company has efficient and effective memory, processing power, communication channels, and connectivity to meet the company’s needs.

  • Leads team of IT staff.
  • Designs and implements IT delivery strategies and infrastructure.
  • Identifies threats and eliminates security risks.
  • Analyzes business requirements for IT needs and systems.
  • Works to increase user satisfaction.
  • Evaluates IT operations with regard to established goals.
  • Communicates within IT team and across departments as needed.
  • Assesses need for new equipment and software.
  • Prepares progress and budget reports for executives.
  • Evaluates and Hires new members of IT staff.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with suppliers.
  • Manages the IT Service Desk.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Director of IT directly supervises the IT Support Specialist, Cloud Systems Administrator.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent from a college or technical school; or at least five years related experience and / or training;

or equivalent combination of education and experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge and experience supporting ERP business systems and services, experience with formal IT Delivery : Strategy, Design, Transition, Operation.

An individual should have knowledge of Continuous Improvement processes e.g. Lean Six-Sigma and Process Mapping techniques.

While performing the duties of this position, he / she is in an office setting but is occasionally exposed to our branch showrooms, warehouses and open-air areas.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand;

walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee may frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and regular days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. Additional days and hours may be required due to business needs.

Travel

Ability to travel to corporate office, branches, customers, and events as needed. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must speak and read English.
