IMS Recruiting is supporting a leading RF and precision manufacturing company in Sparks, Maryland, in their search for an experienced CNC Machinist.

This position offers the opportunity to work on high-precision, mission-critical components supporting advanced technology systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about producing quality work with tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and develop CNC machining operations using CAD / CAM software (Mastercam preferred).
  • Set up and operate HAAS 3-axis CNC machines for high-precision fabrication.
  • Interpret part drawings, technical schematics, and blueprints to achieve dimensional accuracy.
  • Identify appropriate fixturing, tooling, and machining strategies for each project.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to review specifications and recommend design improvements.
  • Monitor and adjust machine parameters in real time to maintain quality standards.
  • Inspect completed parts for surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and conformance.
  • Maintain tooling, fixturing, and CNC program libraries within the company's data management system.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine upkeep on CNC equipment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a high-precision environment.
  • Strong tooling knowledge and experience with setup, operation, and program optimization.
  • Proficiency in Mastercam (or similar CAM software).
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or comparable CAD platforms is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical drawings and GD&T.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to stand, lift, and perform repetitive motions as required (up to 50 lbs).
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
