Overview
Spanish Speaking Community Representatives - Volunteer in San Francisco at Alzheimer's Association of Northern California & Northern Nevada. The role supports patients, families, caregivers and others affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Alzheimer's Association is a major funder of research and offers advocacy opportunities to influence public policy. SE HABLA ESPAÑOL.
Responsibilities
- Represent the Alzheimer's Association at target community events (in person or virtual) in neighborhoods, rural counties, business and civic organizations or faith communities.
- Offer 20-minute Introduction to Alzheimer's presentations for community organizations, congregations, civic organizations, sororities / fraternities, clubs and other locations.
- Promote support groups, education programs, Alzheimer & Brain Awareness Month, Walk to End Alzheimer's, or The Longest Day using local connections and displays.
- Connect the Alzheimer's Association to new community organizations and link people with additional Association services and volunteer opportunities.

Must be 18 or older. Background checks are required.Bilingual (English & Spanish) encouraged, but not required.Commitment
Hours vary; will take any time you are willing to give to the cause.In-person (San Francisco / East Bay) or virtual opportunities available.The Alzheimer's Association will provide training, information and materials. Orientation includes online learning, self-study and shadowing or mentoring by staff and volunteers. Some materials available in multiple languages. Accommodations may be possible.
