Job Summary : Radiological Technician II (X-Ray / CT Tech) - Per Diem

The Radiological Technologist II must perform two (2) modalities. They must meet Radiology Tech I criteria plus one other modality either in Computed Tomography (CT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

The Technologist must perform all examinations at a technical level enough to provide adequate diagnosis with limited supervision and in accordance with established procedures and protocols.

This position performs a variety of diagnostic radiography imaging procedures to provide data for diagnosis and monitoring of disease and injuries in accordance with all applicable standards, regulations, and licensing requirements.

Assist physicians and radiologists in performing Radiological Procedures on patients ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric.

Establishes and maintains quality control procedures for Imaging Services. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.

Experience :

  • At least two (2) years of experience working in a hospital or medical institution as a registered / certified radiological technician in X-Ray, MRI, CT, IR, or US preferred.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read / comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.
  • A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within health care.

Licensure / Certifications :

  • Certified Radiology Technologist, CRT, for state of employment required.
  • Certified American Registry of Radiology Technologists, ARRT, required.
  • Current Basic Life Support, BLS, from the American Heart Association, AHA, required.
  • Fluoroscopy (Fluoro) Certification / Licensure / Permit for state of employment, required.
  • One (1) of the Following, required : Licensed in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)for state of employment or Certification in Computed Tomography or (CT) Or grandfathered for practicing as a CT Tech since 2011 or Functioning in Interventional Radiology.
