JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Nursing Education, in alignment with the Center for Professional Development, Innovation, and Research- is a registered professional nurse that leads and manages innovation in clinical nursing practice to include nursing care delivery models, achievement of Nursing Strategic Planning and alignment with RWJBH corporate nursing goals.
Under the Leadership of the AVP, the Director provides leadership and oversight to the planning, integration, implementation and evaluation of clinical development and nursing quality outcomes.
The Director assist to provide leadership for Magnet initiatives. Collaborates with Patient Care Services departments as required and according to NJ DOH mandates, TJC recommendations, or identified needs.
Is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
Assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resources, persons and programs available.
Collaborates with the Quality and Standards department to assure high quality care.
EDUCATION
Masters Degree in Nursing required
DNP or PhD preferred or in process
Current New Jersey RN license required.
Minimum of 10 years nursing experience, and previous management experience required.
