Job Summary
The Intake Therapist plays a critical role in delivering initial assessments and guiding individuals into appropriate behavioral health services. You'll work directly with adult clients (as well as adolescents and children when needed) to evaluate eligibility, identify treatment needs and goals, and transition them into the services that best align with their plans.
Key Responsibilities Include :
Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and document findings within 48 hours
Use motivational interviewing techniques to understand client readiness and service preferences
Educate clients and families about available treatment options and supports
Develop initial treatment and safety plans
Refer clients for psychological testing and additional evaluations as needed
Participate in clinical team meetings, case reviews, and ongoing supervision
Maintain clear, timely documentation and meet agency productivity standards
