Software Engineer III - Golang, AWS, Terraform

As a Software Engineer III, AWS, Terraform at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Technology line of business, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. Job responsibilities

• Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
• Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
• Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
• Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
• Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages - Golang and Terraform
• Hands-on applied experience with AWS services
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Demonstrated knowledge of software design principles and patterns as wells as experience implementing solutions using various software architectures such as modular monoliths and micro-services
• Excellent problem solving, analytical and communication skills
• Familiarity with one or modern front-end technologies such as React, Angular or NextJs and their corresponding state management solutions (preferred) (Full-stack / Frontend roles)
• Hands-on experience managing public cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform (IaC developer, SRE and Acceleration roles)
• Experience migrating applications to the public cloud (Acceleration roles) Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Experience in designing and maintaining API / event driven architectures.
• Experience in building and maintaining cloud native software solutions including advanced knowledge of managing infrastructure as code
