Job Summary :

Macdonald & Co. is partnered with a real estate investment firm in Nashville, TN to appoint a Vice President of Investments.

The Vice President of Investments will spearhead acquisitions, asset management, investor relations and capital sourcing for multifamily and affordable housing real estate projects in the Southeastern United States.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate investment, team leadership, and asset management, with the ability to drive successful investment strategies and optimize portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities :

Acquisitions :

  • Lead and manage the acquisition of existing multifamily assets.
  • Develop and maintain the investment strategy.
  • Source, underwrite, evaluate, and select appropriate investment opportunities.
  • Oversee deal execution, including capital sourcing and deal structuring.
  • Create executable business plans for the management of acquired assets.
  • Recruit and train personnel for the acquisitions team.
  • Develop and coordinate the distribution of relevant investor reporting.

Asset Management :

  • Lead and manage the Asset Management team.
  • Act as an owner to optimize the performance of assigned assets.
  • Manage risk and compliance related to portfolio properties.
  • Develop and oversee debt strategy and refinancing processes.
  • Select and oversee third-party vendors, such as property management operators.
  • Handle the disposition of designated assets.
  • Recruit and train personnel for the Asset Management team.

Skills & Qualifications :

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in real estate, preferably at an institutional investment firm, family office, real estate investment manager, or private equity real estate firm.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and directly managing people.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA and / or CFA designation strongly preferred.
  • Impeccable professional manner when interacting in person with senior members of the investment ecosystem.
  • Ability to travel domestically as necessary, particularly during spring and fall conference seasons.
  • Outstanding analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills; ability to assess asset quality and strategy feasibility.
  • Proactive, highly detail-oriented, and able to excel in a collaborative environment.
